My 96 just had a new 302 dropped in from the Ford Dealer. It's performance is not as responsive as the original motor. It has 2800 miles on it. I tried to climb the GrapeVine on I5 and could barely get over 45mph. My original motor would cruise this grade doing 65 in 3rd no problem. However it runs very smooth and the milege seems the same. cruises flat ground OK. Any ideas?

Have you checked timing and computer codes and that all wires are properly connected? Ignition components all in good condition? If everything checks out ok, go back to the dealer and COMPLAIN because you might have gotten a rotten deal.
