Little help.........

Hi, wondering if anyone on board knows where a good place to buy new cyl head bolts 4 my 51 239 Flathead? I could use old ones if I had to. Nice to have new, I cleaned up block and threads were not perfect, new bolts would be sweet! Thankssssssssss

Try a websearch; I've seen this discussed and I think they are available, but are pretty pricey and I don't remember who had them. ARP? also check eBay, Speedway, and JobLot. There may even be NOS bolts still around. You could always go to studs. Henry's originals were mighty well made, I'd try for OEM.

Flathead Jack has studs and nuts, not sure about bolts...

Flathead Jack studs

JobLot would be another one I'd recommend contacting, also.

Vern, If you can live with used ones, I have seen them several times on E-bay.

Go back with studs and nuts, not bolts

Flatty heads with studs seem to have a fair amount of trouble with water leakage around the studs. Worse with aluminum heads, but it's a common enough problem to make bolts look more attractive IMO.

Did you try George Moir's? Maybe you want some bolts with some bling? Totally Stainless may have a complete stainless dressup bolt kit for your engine. Also maybe give the Old Car Centre in Langley, BC a call.
