Coughing 302
I have a 91 f150 with a 302 Fuel Injected engine. It continually coughs, spits, and rebels through the intake when lugging or in a light load before the transmission shifts down. I occasionally get pinging as well which leads me to believe it's timing. Could it be dirty Fuel Injectors or maybe emissions sensor? I've replaced the plugs and spryed some injector cleaner into the throttle Body. It helped slightly but not completely. Any Suggestions?

most misses even in FI engines still happen from the simple parts. You changed plugs, did you change the wires?? How is the rotor and cap?? You know to adjust the initial timing, the spout connector must be removed. I would stick tp the basics. If you need some specialized FI info, email me or write back to this board. I can help you with the FI if nothing else turns up anything.
