86 ranger engine problems
i have a 86 ranger when i got it the guy said it came out of a mustang but did not know any more i was wondering if any body knows what engines enterchange it 4x4 and over haed cams

What kind of engine problems are you having? If it is overhead cam, most likely it is a 2.3 liter engine. A little more info would be appreciated. As for what engines interchange, people have put pretty much everything into a Ranger over the years. They came from the factory with 2.0 and 2.3 liter 4 cylinders, 2.8 or 2.9 liter V6's, and later 3.0 V6's and 4.0 liter V6's. The latter in an OHV configuration and SOHC.
