welding test passed

I just took the okla state certification test on a 6g 6inch pipe and had a smooth bend I welded with a sa200 that is a great machine.

Good for you! I have noticed that a real pro can make something (like a good welding bead) look easy. My seams hold OK, but they are really ugly .... Lucky I don't weld that much.

A WELDING CERTIFICATION.

I thought I could weld. That was until I met some guys while I was working (computer stuff) at Exxon in Louisiana. They invited me to give it a try and then put it through all their NDE tests. I'll leave it that I have a LOT to learn. I watched as a fellow did (what I think was called) a 'hot tap'. Welding a saddle onto a live line that had some nasty hot fluid flowing through it at some ridiculous pressure. Burn through and you have disaster, insufficient penetration and you have disaster.
