Well, just completed my first mod on my 97 F350 CC 7.3, installed 3" DP. Drove it for a little bit but have not towed my boat yet with the mod. I can definately hear the turbo singing louder but the rumbling under the floor board is deafening. And, it's not a smooth rumbling, more of a gurgling sound. I have not noticed any performance improvement either.

The sound may be the down pipe hitting the cab did you make enough room for the new down pipe?
Yeah, sounds like you might have some clearance issues. Also, throw the stock air cleaner box out and put in an aftermarket one or do the 6637 mod. Having that "free-flowing" intake will make the spool up faster.
Definatly clearance porblems. My did the same, dont just bend seam but hit it back a little. Do the 10k mod and shim mod and you will feel what the down pipe is supose to do !
Sory guys, been away from he PC. No resloution to date, a buddy of mine who owns a muffler shop did the job for me so I plan on discussing it with him this weekend over a cold beer. Looking at the 6637 mod next. Afraid I might be hooked, but not as much as my wife. I just tell her that these mods will increase gas mileage
