Single Pattern vs. Dual Pattern
Single Pattern vs. Dual Pattern
I tried searching this on this forum without any luck, so.....
What I'm wondering is what the pro's and cons are behind single and dual pattern cams.
I understand how it works, I just don't understand which cam works best for what circumstances. Several of the manufacturers making cams for FE's have both types, both with decent durations and lifts. I just want to be more educated about the results each produce before I lay down some coin.

You're talking intakes, he' talking cam shafts.
My mistake.
Normally a dual pattern cam will idle smoother over a singe pattern at the larger durations. There are some other differences too. Like larger power band. There are some variable lift hyd lifters that have a bleed rate that do not let the the valves open all the way up at idle. This will also help in getting a smooth idle. But this can be shoot down with a radical cam.
