So this is the start of a big project for me, but the cool thing is I'm going to be working on it with dad.
1st step is next Sunday we go to pull the engine from the doner truck.
Fac's 72 pinto wagon
91 5.0 ECM and harnass
P.S. I know this is not a Ford truck but i still want to share it with you!
may have to find a differnt oil pan and pump... on my pinto when we would use a ranger or mustang motor the sump would be wrong.. pinto's have a front sump and a mustang had a rear sump or vice versa...
I have been thinking about selling my pinto again so here it is! 72 wagon 2.0 auto I have wanted to put a v-8 in it but have not started, I bought the car for $1100 selling for best offer! + x parts if you want
I found out the mustang Ecm will not work because the mustang is a 5.0 H.O.and has a different firing order than 5.0 In less I change the cam in the 5.0 <table style="table-layout: fixed;" border="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td colspan="2" class="smalltext" width="100%">
</td></tr></tbody></table>
So i plain to use the truck ecm with the truck block, and put the mustang intake on it with the bigger T body and injectors
So just a thought This 5.0 is out of a truck , I will have to change some things buy more parts and all to make it work in the pinto.
But I don't have to change any thing about it to put it in the truck it even comes with a OD tranny.
So how about a EFI 5.0 76 ford?
The pinto swap is on hold I am now doing the swap to my 76 ford truck as it will cost less because I have most of the parts. plus then my truck will get better gas mileage
awe hell if your gonna go v8 go carbed, easier to set up, cheaper too... as for nitrous, get a fogger system, plum it into the airbreather.... i dont know about the sump pumps or oil pan location, ive been away from the v8s too long lol, but id love to put a 302 - 390 carby into my 90 f150....so ill get back into it soon i hope! good luck.
