alright so i'm planning on getting a lift and some tires. i'm gettin a 4" lift and i cant decide what kinda tires to go with. its between the NITTO MUD GRAPPLERS and the TOYO OPEN COUNTRY M/Ts. the nitto are freaking sweet lookin but as far as performance wise i want to know which ones i should go with. advice any one?????/
The mud grapplers are alright tires..they are pretty loud on the street though. I know some people with these tires, and for the most part they like them.
I have also heard alot of good things about the Toyo M/T, if it was me i would rather get the Toyos.
I have Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's(285/70R17) on my truck and i absolutely love them. they may be a little more expensive than the toyo's(i dont know never compared them) but i do my share of trail/mudding with my truck and i have no complaints.
Although i drove a ram the other day with 35" mud grapplers on it and they are beautiful tires but unless you like road noise from 25mph those arent for you, there a very loud tire like bobby said.
My vote is for the Mud Grapplers. I just bought the Terra Grapplers again, but wanted to get the Mud this time. But most off my driving is in town and highway, and I didn't want all that noise. Love my TG though and wish I could have justified the MG. They are a mean looking tire. I think they look better than the toyo.
i am sure the mud grapplers are great, but road noise is terrible. Hands down, the Toyos are as quiet as a street tire, have a really hard look to them, and perform fantstic in the mud. FOr someone set on mus tires these are the best choice
if you like loud fast wearing paddle tires go mud grapplers if you want good all round tires that are quiet for mud tires get the toyos they last for so much longer and ride alot better
i say go with dunlop radial mud rover, thats what i have, they arent super expensive they are mid range, cheaper than the toyos, are very quiet, wear great, and are great performing tires offroad, i recently went from cheapy remingtons, to the dunlops and wow they can get me through anything, and i dont have 4x4, i say dunlops!!
maybe if you dont take care of it, kumho aint a bad tire, the venture mt does decent, as for offroad tires, what kinda of wheeling will you be doing? im totally against the mud grappler, does OK but i think the toyo does decent offroad, quite tire for road and great mileage, then of course you have your obvious choices, tsls ect, the ssr's do great offroad and get decent mileage jsut some other options, but if it comes down between toyo and nitto, id get the toyo mts any day over ther mud grappler
