did you liscernse your truck as commercial yet?

Dont forget ALWAYS to log your hours as OFF DUTY, Never sleeper, even if you do sleep in your truck one night. Crappy thing, hope you have A LOT of loads to cover all your insurance and costs your about to incur, you already have the truck safety inspected? I assume that dot is near you somewhat...... welcome to my world of headaches, B.S., and get rammed from the rear..........

Oh I see.

So after they check you out this time do you have to get an annual inspection and E test?

i still have to get my truck safety inspected and register it as commercial so far i have applied for an us dot # they gave me an us dot number and some other number too, like a reference number or something like that and they said they will be contacting me sometime in the next 6 monthes for a safety audit and inspection that must be preformed in x number of days after they contact me.

as far as insurance cost i got a million dollar policy for 12 payments monthly payments of $258 1 load can cover that

i think im in a little over my head at this point so its sink or swim time. im learning as i go

Get the DOT regs online. You can probably find a "how to" site. Don't you need a set of orange triangles?

There is someone who teaches Federal Motor carrier Safety Regulations in Oak Ridge occasionally. I will see when they do it again. I took it. I believe you would definately benefit from this class. It is good for people who own or manage transportation companies, not necessarily drivers. Since you ARE the company I believe you would get an awful lot out of this class.
