after new brakes all around and new wheels and tires my truck bounces real bad at low speeds. Im running the psi the tire says on the side...anyone have any ideas?
Are your wheels hub concentric or lug centered? If the new wheels are centered by lug nuts, you may be off centered a little on one or more. Just a thought.
stroken - are you running factory wheels or aftermarket? The oem wheels are machined so the lug nuts are not carrying the weight. The weight is on a flange.
Don't run the pressure on the tire, run the pressure listed in your door jamb, or if this exceedes the max tire pressure listed on the tire, at least go as high as you can. These trucks typically need 55psi up front to ensure a proper ride.
yes, just bounces at low speeds, rides perfect at high speeds...it did it on my old bald 37's with warped rotors...when I put my wheels and tires on I put all new brake pads all the way around and new rotors up front...Now it does it worse, and not just when I hit the brakes...any low speed under id say 30 maybe?
Ken, is it an overall bouncing or is it in the steering wheel? Could be the new rotors or the new tires/rims. Try rotating the tires and see if that helps. Did you have the tires balanced on or off the truck? You may need to have them rebalanced on the truck. Also check the weights on the rims, if you find one or more that has an excessive amount of weights have that tire broken down and spun 180 degrees on the rim and rebalanced. Bet your bouncing goes away. If not....new heavier duty shocks!!!
okay, i'll give it a shot, they were balanced off the truck, i bought them from a company in texas, they mounted and balanced them there...and its an overall bounce, you can actually watch the truck go up and down...would air pressure have somthing to do with it?
