Will be firing up engine later this week. Before I do that I want to turn the oil pump with a drill to get some oil pressure in the system. Which direction do I have to turn the drill? Clockwise or counterclockwise?
Thanks.

I did this recently on a 460. Used a heavy duty battery drill on high gear. On high till the oil started to move, really slowed the drill down. Had to shift it to the low gear range to get some speed. Oil pump shaft was a 5/16 hex, I used a 1/4 drive socket, a 6 inch 1/4 drive extension, and a hex to 1/4 drive adapter, hex chucked in drill. Steadied the extension near the top with a leather glove on. Worked great.
Remember that the drill speed is equivalent to TWICE the crankshaft speed, since crank divided by two is the cam speed, therefore the oil pump speed.
So no need to wail away with that drill!
