ratchety power window

i have a 2000 ranger xlt ex cab. the drivers side power window is ratchety when going down, ok when coming up. the pass window is fine. is this a lubrication problem or something worse? thanks.

does anyone know about this? I have the same problem with only the drivers side but sometimes on the passenger side. Any help would be appreciated

The easiest thing to try is to spray the window channel with silicone and see if it helps. Greg
