OEM mirrors are what I'm talking about. This is the only series of F150's that I know of that only offer 1 mirror choice. Have you seen any after markets that bolt on in the factory holes? I noticed the other day, a Freightliner Sprinter that had an extra mirror mounted on top of the regular mirror, an idea. I've also seen a couple Crown Vics with an add on mirror. Both of these were aero type black plastic.
I guess these are what I've seen on the Vics. Automotive Safety Accessories Introducing the Auxiliary Mirror
There is a page (I think 3) with Dorman mirrors which appear to be slightly larger than stock. Also, page 4 has some extendable towing mirrors. Definitely appear larger!! I bought the KoolVue signal mirrors with Chrome caps. They arrived 2 days after I paid for them, got UPS tracking info e-mailed PROMPTLY, and they work great. I had old ones out and new in about 45 minutes total!!
Auto Zone has a replacement mirror for F-150. Cost is about $79.00 and it can be either solid black or with the chrome back cover. They bolt to the original holes for the OEM mirrors, but the power connection for the powered mirrors will need to have the original connector attached. The part number at Auto Zone is MI-075,can't remember the mfg. name.
