An old farmes trick Lisa is to cover the new plants with burlap or hay. My grandfather used to do this.

My front porch this weekend. I wish it was 70 degrees around here all the time.

I hate to say it but snow in May is pretty usual here in Colorado, hopefully its just wet snow and not the deep freezing stuff. Heck, we had it snow on us one 4th of July when we were camping one year.

I thought about using some old blankets or something to cover the flowerbeds and flower boxes. Would that work?

Just jumped to 99, maybe we will hit 100 today. Time for HUGE electric bills. YEA

Keep that cold weather in CO Lisa, I will be there next month and I would love to wear a jacket again.

Couple of old sheets work well. They're light too.

Ron, you need to clean your camera lens. You apparently have some sort of white stuff all over it. It's making everything in the picture look white.

I don't know how you put up with that stuff so long. The grass in my hayfield is already up to my knees.

Lisa. Glad to see your one of those types who fly the flag on their porch.

I'm supposedly in the South and it's going down to 37 tonight. I am real tired of being cold. Seems to me it started early this fall too. Once in awhile we will get a pleasant 2 or 3 days in a row, and then right back to this crap.

Yes the blankets will help. The cold wont last long so it will help to hold in the ground heat, and act as a wind breaker.

LOL! Never, ever have I had the desire to need to wear a coat. Ugh...I hate excess clothes..I am the type that only wears my jacket if it gets extremely cold. 25 degrees or less.

Always. 365 days a year. Unless of course it gets real windy or we have a storm rolling in, and then i'll bring it in until the storm is over. I won't let it touch the ground. My grandpa was a Marine, WW2 veteran and survived Siam. It's my way of remembering him, and the sacrifices of all of the other thousands of soldiers who do what they do, every day. Including you, Chris.

You should have also pointed out that Blairsville is also at the highest elevation in Georgia. Nearly 5000 feet, might as well be in Denver.
