I am getting close to finishing the interior of my '77
I am thinking about using blue dolphin electronic gauges with one of the metal inserts available to house them, but I am struggling with how to "bezel" the gauge cluster because of the original plastic dash cover bezel the makes up the whole dash including covering the radio and AC/Heater controls.
I have thought about using a dremel tool to cut out the two uprights that separate the speedo from the guages, but that may be difficult to get a "finished" look to it.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I would probably go back with original guages, and I think mine still work, but they are old and faded. Is there someplace we can get them rebuilt?
Take a look at some van clusters. At least in my area in the bone yards, there are alot of nice unfaded Econoline clusters available.
If you go that route, just make sure that either the number on the printed circut, matches the truck's, or use the printed circut from the truck, because most printed circuts on the back of the clusters are NOT interchangeable, and are year specific.
However, the gauges, and speedos, and even back cluster plastics are compatible, to at least 1985, and most will interchange up to 1991 Econoline's as well.
