New here

So I'm new to the Bronco II world sort of. I have an '89 B2 stock back in Oregon that I will be going bring it back here to Utah in a couple weeks. I bought it back in '02 and shortly after the engine went I cracked both heads on the 2.9l and there was a hole in one of the pistons the size of my pinky. I was able to get a used motor for it which is a 2.8l out of a '78 mustang II not exactly a great motor but it was free and it ran. The truck hasn't run since I put the motor in I just didn't quite have the mechanical know how to do it at the time. Luckily things have changed and hopefully it will be up and running this summer. I have a Ford 9" and a Dana 30 lined up for it and should have access to the springs I'm gonna need to lift it a few inches. So I will update on my progress as I go along.

I think I would get it running first or if you are planning on doing those upgrades then upgrading to maybe a 4.0.
Did you have the 2.8 ready to fire up or is it just sitting in there.

It's gonna be a tight budget truck so no engine swap planned for the near future. The 2.8l thats in it is pretty much just sitting there it's all bolted in just needs exaust, fuel and electrical which will be a weekend job hopefully. I don't plan on running bigger than 33's so 4.56's will do just fine with the weak motor and the dana 30 will hold up just fine as well and when it does break I will upgrade to a dana 44 hybrid. I have a friend in New Mexico that runs 37's with a dana 30/44 hybrid and doesn't ever have any trouble with it. The interior is trashed since the pack rats have been living in it so it's going to get completly stripped out and I'm gonna put some summit racing seats in it. Someday down the road it's going to get a chop top and a full cage but that's a while out.

I plan on durasparking it I've read lots of great things about it. I think the hardest part about getting this thing running is going to be fuel delivery once I get that figured out everything else is gonna be easy.

The Bronco is here

So I got the Bronco here amazingly after six years of sitting the tires were still good and all the electrical works it even turns over so thats encouraging. Once I get the engine electrical figured out and get my fuel pump installed it should start hopefully. I'll get some pictures up soon.

So I got all the duraspark parts and installed them, made my own harness. It took about a week to get all the parts finally Napa auto parts came through for me I swear I'll never go back to Checker. Got it fired up today and it runs I can't really tell how well since I have no exhaust on it yet I did get it to idle for a few minutes though. I tore out the dash and the heater core which was necesity to get rid of that terrible smell inside. I've decided to make a flat dash for it out of some sheet metal. Since I tore out the dash I severed all ties to the computer and pulled that out so I'm going to have alot of wiring to do to make it street legal. Hopefully I'll be driving it in time for fathers day(a nice little gift to myself).
