I own a 2008 F250 Superduty, KR, 6.4L and have been experiencing the following problem and am wondering if anyone on this forum has had it happen to them.
When starting the truck after not running for 6 hours or more the phrase "CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM" appears in the message center where milage is displayed. I've taken it into the dealer and they were not able to find any codes in the computer or recreate the message. Basically they sent me home and told me to write down the times it happens. Has anyone had this happen to their new trucks. Thanks in advance for the input.
I have not experienced this but I am certain your techs checked the fluid level.......
Did you check inside each wheel for any leaks? Even a small leak might alert the system to a pressure drop. Let us know if it turns out to be something else like a bad indicator.
I agree with Demolition. Once the fluid warms it expands witch could be just enough to push the float up far enough to not tell it that the fluid is to low. That is probably why you have to wait 6 or so hours for it to show that.
Yeah, I have a 5th wheel hitch installed and they used a "Y" type plug off the back side of the bumper mounted 7 pin connector to run another 7 pin into the bed of the truck. Thing with that is, I was getting the Check Brake System message prior to having the other 7 pin connector installed.
I wasn't able to check brake fluid levels yesterday but should get to it today. I will post an update once I look.

The only problem i have had was the Brake booster leaking into the cab were the brake peddle pushes the rod. Theres a seal out which the oil was leaking into the cab, if look under the dash just above the peddles at it you can see it.

I have the y adapter for the trailer connector as well. I haven't had any issues. I think if there is a problem with the trailer connection it says "Check Trailer Connector" or something of that sort.
I checked for brake fluid leaks and all dry. Nothing noticeable anyway and brake fluid level was correct. I'll continue with my log and hopefully the techs at the dealership will come through. Matt
I checked the manual, pg 121 says "Check Brake System, displayed when a fault has been detected by the ABS module". Don't know if the techs checked that for you...
