I found a 86 Ranger that quit running on a fella and he wants $600 for it. It has new tires , windsheild, clutch, Brakes.
It cranks over, but does not start. I'm considering it for a commutor truck from the acreage. To do this I will probally have to sell my 86 extendacab.
I'm going to have a closer look at it tomorrow.
I don't know how to post pics to this thread. I forget.
Post them in my pics.
I'm guessing the timing belt went i've seen a few with that problem. Sounds like a good plan. I don't know if it would be worth it to you to lower the asking price on your 86 just so you could get a quick sale.
It is a V6 with 246,000kms on it. I'm think more that it is the power pack (Spark o Matic)
A person would have to see if it has spark or not.
Yes with all the new parts on the truck, they are worth more than the asking price.
I have to talk with my wife. The on;ly way she will go for it is to sell one of my other trucks and it will most likely be the 86 Ext cab.
I probally will try and get as close to 3000 for it. It has only 135,000kms on it. It just needs a paint job from the peeled paint.
The debate is over on this truck. I saw it today and going to pass on it. Pulled the dipstick and it smelled of gas, the floor on the drivers side has a hole the size of a toonie and the left fender is no longer bolted at the bottom. The endgate handle is broken and twisted and does not open. The right side of the box has a large hole of rust and the passenger door is rusted away and would need replacement. It has 250,000kms on it and is a 2.9 V6 fuel injected.
At $600 is all it is worth for all the new parts put into it.
Lots of dents and dings. So it has been driven hard. It would be a good beater truck and that is about it.
