1st day benefits.

Hi guys.

I found this place by simply typing in a Ford part number on Google and clicking on the first thing that came up! What a surprize!

I'm fifty-four years old, and having grown up in the 60's, (when you either a "Chevy guy" or a "Ford guy"), I for some reason long forgot, chose Chevrolet as my "favorite" maker,.........you know; "CHEVY RULES!" and all that rot!

Last month I bought my first Ford vehicle,......a really nice '99 F150 Flare-side. The kid I bought if off of had put a set of the newer Lightning wheels and tires on it, installed Flowmasters, painted the bumpers to make it look like a Lightning,.....and as an old hot-rodder at heart, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!

Anyhow,......within 24 hours I realized I'd bought a pickup with at least a dozen small problems!

Every ONE of which I found were very fixable. Floppy windshield wiper, bad BOO switch and window control rocker, courtesy lite wouldn't go off when the door was shut etc, etc.

The ones I wasn't too sure about were solved today by reading a few threads on this forum,....blend door pivot broken, bucking at low rpms while under heavy load, and the "occasional" odometer lite.

I was quite happy, to say the least, when I found that these last three problems were not only common problems, but were quite fixable on any weekend out in the driveway!

Thanks to all of you! I'm looking forward to not only benefiting from this forum but also to being of some use around here as well.

Tommy

We are glad to have an "old hot-rodder" like yourself on here

As you probably already have, check out the 97-03 F150 forum for info on your truck!

Thanks Adrian, I started digging around that particular section yesterday and loved it.
It's nice to know that no matter what goes wrong with my truck, several people have experienced the same problem and posted solutions for it.
