87f350 not charging
my 87 f-350 quit going down the road and would not make a sound when i try to start it. put new altenator on and would not do anything. i could start it across the solencid. went and put new solencid on. will start but will not charge. took alt back to parts store and they check it and said it was ok.need help?

Welcome to FTE!
One thing to check is the harness that plugs into the bottom of your alternator.
Mine has failed before leading to an "open" condition.
These are notorious for melting down internally, so much so that a replacement pigtail plug is widely available.
