ok first off i would like to thank the moderators for stepping in and ending all this customer to vendor violence!!! haha a big OORAH to you!
ok now on to why i'm pissed. i had recently installed my cat delete pipe and kept my stock cat in the bed of my truck so that i could put it on when i drove from SC to NV so i could keep track of my fuel economy with the cat on and with it off on the drive back. well apparently this world has gotten so hard up on having what they can't have that someone decided they wanted it more than i did and straight jacked it out of my truck last night. i am disappointed that i am not going to be able to do my comparison now. also i know those things are worth money. when i was working at a recycling company we used to sell them off the cars we would shred for $50 a pop and that would have taken care of the cost of my delete pipe.
what is this world coming to when you can't even leave a catalytic converter in the bed of your truck? i'd give $50 that says the idiot that stole it doesn't even know what it is!
He knew exactly what it was!
That's why he stole it. There was a news story last year where they were stealing them off cars and trucks overnight. I wish they would make seller register or somehow limit the number of sales. These same guys are stealing copper out of houses between tentants. Sorry for your lost.

He knew exactly what it was. There are precious metals in the cat that even in the trace amounts that are present are worth quite a bit and in today's times, every little bit helps.
I have even heard about theives cutting the wires on running pump jacks and other equiptment to steal the copper wire. One rig that was shortly stacked out here in west Texas was almost totally stripped of wire by theives. Just regular junk iron is selling for around $200 a ton.
Don't want this to get political but... as the economy gets worse so will thievery, of all kinds!
I agree with those above, the thief knew exactly what was being stolen.
This is a reminder that I've got to update my alarm to one that notifies you when the vehicle is tampered with... I think Dakota or Crimestopper, something like that!
We had 3 copper thieves around here cutting down telephone wire.
But now we only have 1.
One of the dead one ooppss'ed and tried to cut down some 440 .
The other dead one fell in a river while cutting the section over the water .
One more good reason to go with a cat delete. If it's not there, they can't steal it.
Sorry for your loss mxer. I know it's not the value of it, but just the fact that someone went into your truck and stole something that belongs to you. I can't stand thieves. they should be keelhauled or dirt road dragged behind a superduty.
Around here the problem of people stealing the cats off of vehicles overnight has gotten so bad. That many people are starting to engrave there Drivers license number or license plate number on the cat....not like it will make any difference though.
Thieves, SCUM! I HATE 'em! My wife used to have a GMC Yukon and some thievin' bastich stole one of the driving lights right out of the front valence in the parking lot where she worked. Can you imagine? I only wish that the thief was under it when she started it and drove away! I noticed it early the next morning and thought it was broken or maybe fell off, but the bolt was removed and the wire unplugged. Unbelievable, these people are! Sorry for your loss, and the hijack
thanks for all your concerns! i wasn't planning on keeping it very long anyways. i am more disappointed that i'm not gonna get to finally get to the bottom of the fuel economy thing. i was really looking forward to being able to contribute to this great site i guess i'll just do it anyways and see what i get. i haven't had a chance to do any highway driving yet so i am not sure what i get. i do a lot of short driving, like 2 miles round trip to and from work since i live in the barracks and with that i am averaging only 10 to 10.5 MPG. even though it really puts a hurtn on the pocket book i have always wanted a superduty every since i was 16 so i am willing to pay that price. though one of Matts tunes is gonna be going in here shortly. that should help a bit. If i can keep my foot out of it...hahaha
now if those jackasses were to steal my harnesses then it would definitely be time to
again thanks a lot for the support. maybe in the future i will be able to contribute
Well, if you're moving to NV vs. visiting, you'll have to find another. We have annual smog checks here that run $50 and include a visual check and a dyno test.
