I know I'm posting lots of Q's but I'm new to these trucks and this one has a few issues. The wiindshield wiper motor on this truck is really noisy, the intermittent settings don't seem to work, and using the left turn signal freezes the wipers. Turn the signal off and the wipers start up again. Sometimes I hear a clicking under the dash / glovebox area.
ok, I was mistaken, the intermittent does work, but the left turn signal definitely halts the wipers. Also they seem to run slower when the engine is turning slower (like at a stop light).
Ok, update on this. I like to update any issues i've posted on so future searches can help others...
Wiper motor finally died on me for good in a rainstorm on the highway while the whole family was on vacation (Doh!). After doing the Ace Ventura driving technique, I pulled the motor out when we got home. After doing a search on here, I opened up the motor and the magnets had come loose from the case. I was going to epoxy them back on to the case but one of them had broken into a number of pieces so I had to put in a new one. Now the wipers work and are quiet. The intermittant still only works at the higher speeds and the wipers still cut out when the left turn signal is on but at least I have wipers. Next I'm going to explore the wiper circuit board for cracks in the solder. I will update when I do.
I want to tackle the left-turn-signal-freezes-windshield-wipers problem before our 8 month rainy season starts for good. Does anyone have a diagram or schematic for a 94 F150 multi-function switch? Thanks
