Local garage replaced my original water pump with a NAPA re-built water pump (58-346) on my "94 5.8 Bronco. Was surprised to find out it was a re-built pump, rather than new. I never thought to ask about what type of pump as the garage has a good reputation. Any feedback on this particular NAPA pump would be appreciated. Good, bad or otherwise. Thanks !!

Appreciate the response. My concern was that my Bronco has the trailer package with the cooling package and wondered if I needed a high flow water pump to match up with the other heavy duty components. Have observed the Bronco is running hotter than before. The needle on the gauge would normally sit between the "N" and the "O" on the word NORMAL, but now sits on the "R". That has me concerned. Had the Thermostat changed out also. Never expected it to run warmer. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
they might have replaced the thermostat with the oem for your truck. I'm pretty sure it should be a 192 degree release. You probably had the 185 degree one placed in there by you or a previous owner. Either way, not a big deal. If you are that concerned about it during towing, install a aftermarket gauge. It's relatively cheap, and very easy. It will give you piece of mind and it is much better than the idiot light style that comes in the dash.

Appreciate the reply. Not sure what the temperature release on the old one was. I am the original owner of the Bronco and don't recall ever changing it. Did not realize the OEM was 195 degrees. As for the water pump, the re-built NAPA pump they installed is the cheapest sold by NAPA. Do you think that could be the problem. Taking it back to the garage tomorrow morning for them to look it over. Wished that I had bought a MoPar pump from the dealer and had the garage install it. Going to see what I can work out with the garage. Always appreciate opinions and thoughts, so please jump in.
Thought I would update you all on my NAPA water pump and t-stat overheating concerns. Took the Bronco back to the garage that did the work and they are going to replace the NAPA water pump and T-stat with a new Motorcraft pump and stat. Only charge me for the difference in cost of the pump and stat. This is a garage that wants to please the customer and knew that I was not comfortable with the NAPA parts and willing to do whatever it takes to make it right. Can't ask for anything more than that. Thanks again for all your input.
