Has anyone found a decent replacement for the stock Goodyears that come mounted on the optional 20" rims of 2008 SD's? I have never been a fan of the Goodyear Wrangler series.
I checked on TireRack and don't see anything except Wrangler.
Thanks for the reply. Nicest looking X I have seen. Those rims make a huge difference. Have you driven on the Wrangler AT/S tires or did you go straight to the Michelins? Wondering if it would be worth replacing the Goodyears before the snow flies here next October. Don't even have my new truck yet and I'm thinking of replacing the tires already. What is this sickness I have?
Snowback, I've had the same Goodyear AT/S on my previous F-150 and on my wifes current 03' Chevy Tahoe. I actually liked them and thought they performed good in the snow. I just replaced the one's on the Tahoe and they had 50,000 miles on them with probably another 8,000 miles of tread left. Personally, I think you should try them out for awhile. I wish my 08' had them but I have the Conticraps instead.
I have been thrilled with the Goodyears in the snow. Had 16" Toyo ATs on my 04, and now have the 20's on this one. On slushy roads at 40-50mph I would have had to use 4wd in my old truck. The new one goes right thru it. They were very good to me plowing as well.
its hard to beat the special on them right now too. My dealer is installing my second set for 650 out the door. Thinking of buying another set b/c i dont know if i will ever be able to find them this cheap again.
