First of all, I want to say how much I have learned from this site. I gain a LARGE amount of knowledge every time I sit here and read the forums. I have a 2001 F350 7.3L 4x4 Crewcab with 162,000 miles. Several weeks ago, I started dumping oil, alot of oil, on the ground and it ended up being an O ring on the HPOP that caused it all. I learned in the process it was worth the $460.00 wrecker bill to tow it back home to my local dealer instead of the dealer that was 5 min. down the freeway. ( Machaik Ford in Round Rock, TX in case your curious. They wanted to charge $1850.00 for what Team Ford in Navasota, TX fixed for $76.00. ) Anyway, O ring replace, oil added to truck, runs great. And a slight oil leak was still present, but hey, leaks happen. No other problems from there on out until this last Sunday when the truck started missing every now and then and the Check Engine light was going on and off as I was driving it. After driving 60 miles, I was able to observe oil seeping from the ICP sensor and it was throwing a 1280 code. Sensor changed, and the code is still there. I did check the wiring, I do have the appropiate voltage on the wiring. Any suggestions for things to check or what to look at?
Yep, cleared the code out, and it appears to not have quite the power it used to have. I am thinking it is running on PCM defaults, not the real sensor readings. Last night I cranked the truck and was goign to back out of the drive. As soon as I put the truck in reverse, the Check Engine light came on and it stumbled. Light went out after about 5 miles, and didnt come back on the rest of the trip. When coming home, same thing happened. Cranked fine, started off the street, and Light pops on within 100 yards of starting my trip home.
If you can pull and clear codes can you monitor ICP pressure while cranking or running? If not, maybe someone with an AE from the Austin area will offer to do it for you.
I am in Navasota right now, and naturally my laptop is in Austin. I do have a software program that I can monitor functions from the truck, but I have never used it. Not sure what I can and can not see. I will check it out here on the desktop as I have the code reader adn software in the truck. Oh, by the way, after I repaired it last night, wasnt a code that was logged in the DTC's, was in the continuous memory test, 1280. What should I be looking for along the lines of ICP pressure?

Well, seems as if it was the PCM that was dying. The ICP sensor was leaking oil from the connector, so I replaced it. Turns out the DTC for 1280 was just the beginning. It started throwing all kinds of codes and acting like it didnt know what to do. Missing, dying, not wanting to start..... Anyway, a new PCM and everythign is good again.
