I have a 96 F250 with an PSD and an E4OD that seems to have troubles when the truck is cold. If I start it up, let it warm up for a minute or two, and drive away, it shifts but it feels almost as though the tranny is slipping. If I just keep driving along, it eventually feels like something finally takes hold and the RPMs drop to normal and all is fine. If I let it warm up for a least 10 minutes, it is just fine. I don't know much about transmissions, but I have seen some posts on torque converter lock up problems that sound similar to mine. Could this be a possibility?
I have heard that. But is it normal for it to do this when it is say 60 to 65 Degrees outside?
I always thought it was only noticeable on really cold days when it took a while for the fluid to heat up. That would explain why it got worse after I topped off the tranny fluid since it would take longer to heat up more fluid. Is there anything I can change or improve to speed up the process a little?
