Whats the procedure for taking off the driver side fender? any tips ideas to make it easy? Im going to u pull and pay soon to get me a NON rusted fender...lol
And plus I got a 25% off entire purchase...Also plan on buying my new truck bed also...
IIRC it's pretty easy, the hardest part is getting access to all the small bolts down
near the front of the vehicle near the headlight & bumper area. Also, the screws
holding on that plastic wheel well material might be a pain, a battery-operated
sawzall to slice through it might be easiest.
There's a bolt underneath, down near the rocker panel; be sure the donor truck
isn't supported by anything in that area else you'll have to jack it up and move it.
Take the inner fender off with it. Two bolts underneath in the very front, and one with a big washer in the fender well behind the right side of the tire as you look at the tire from the side of the truck. Much easier than trying to remove the fender well, and you can probably slide it by the yard guy as part of the fender assembly. At least around here you can.....
There are two bolts up bye the hood hinge, the hinge itself, one in the door opening, one under the rear part of the fender back by the door, two holding the header panel to the fender under the grille, two or three down the inside of the fender behind the light, and tow at the top front. Then anything else that you dont want on the fender itself. You also have the inner fender liner screw to take out.

I'll second that as by far the easiest way of getting the guard off. The plastic is easily cut with aviation shears if you can't get these screws to part, unless you need the inner guard in one piece. Take a can of rust penetrant too. On mine (and the one I salvaged the guards off) the bolt under the cab corner was by far the hardest to remove.
Check all the U-nuts before putting the new fender on. I just put one on a couple of weeks ago. The last bolt I tightened was the low one near the door. The one you access with the door open and a long extension with your socket. The U-nut is stripped and now doesn't tighten. I just don't feel like taking the darn thing off again...should have replaced/checked it first.
