I looked into motorcycle gas mileage. To me they aint that good to have your tail out there in the wind. Not for what I need. It's 2 hours to Raleigh where I'm gonna be working. Small cars can get 40+ MPG. I had one that got 50 MPG many years ago.
I checked out bike's mileage online. The tops are like 68 and it goes down from there. little scooters get better. A moped I used to have supposedly got 100 MPG but it was slow too.
I'd like a smaller scooter type bike for in towns and stuff. They're even fun in the country - just slow. But for MY daily / weekly commuting I need to carry stuff in all weather.
I'll prob get an older Escort / Tracer wagon, like 1991+. Good deals on them now and reliable. Look pretty cool with nice wheels on, etc.
I want the most mileage I can get with the most space too. I carry tools sometimes and wanna take trips on it. I'm 6 feet tall. I hear 6 footers fit in Escorts / Tracers ok. I've driven them before.
These Ford Aerostars been good for me a long time, but with gas like it is, I'm looking something even MORE economical!

The other traffic out there definitely scares me. My cummute is fairly short right now though (12 miles). I have a friend that loved the 80's Escorts and he was 6'3" and 280lbs. He said the head gaskets were a pain some times but they got into the 30's on mpg. I just know that if gas gets as high as they say it might, Im gonna need somthing thats cheap to operate daily and I will not part with my truck, I like it too much. Its been awhile but I do love to ride motorcycle so maybe its time to get back in the saddle again. Only time will tell what I must do.
