Alarm Install

I have a 98 F150 XLT with power door locks that some one removed/disconnected the keyless entry.
I want to install a new alarm with keyless entry/remote start.
has anyone done this and how difficult is it. You can get some good prices on alarms off the net but to have someone install them makes it more expensive than buying from installer..

I done one alarm install and it will be the last. It's not that bad of a job, but it is very time consuming. If you plan on soldering all your connections, it will take 4-6 hours to complete. I think it's worth dropping your vehicle off, paying a couple hundred dollars and come back when it's done.

I installed a code alarm on my 05 F150. I bought from www.kcautosound.com. It took me about 4 hours to install and I soldered all my connections. I went with code alarm from travis at kcautosound for 2 reasons. He prewires it for your ford f150 and includes detailed instructions with pics (a big help), the second reason is code allows you to keep your keyless entry. If you have neverdone any type wiring I would let the professional do it. When your cutting your wires it is a little nerveracking.
