Hi Guys
I am new to the board and just found this chapter. I am working on a 56COE, will just starting to that is. Next weekend I wil be trying to fire it up. I t has been sitting for a few years and needs a new battery, fuel filter, gas and who what all else. Anyone interested in giving me a hand? I know nothing about these things, figured I would jump in head first and see what happens. I was going to try and sell this for a friend but no buyers yet and so I will buy it and see what happens.
Hey Jeff, head over to the '48-60 forum for set up specs, you need to know about points, dwell and timing...and a little bit sbout carbs
zYou probably have a Y-block in it, remeber it's old and may have been neglected, so do all the normal stuff...fluids, filters, etc...and double check the brakes before you take it for a test drive.
I know how to get them old girls going, but Concord is a bit of a haul for me right now.
Welcome aboard Jeff. I just accepted your application into our chapter. You will find a lot of great information and resources here. We are a friendly group and try to get together every so often to work on our project truck (Thumper) and to socialize.
As Mike suggested, check out the 48-60 forum as well for specific information on your special truck. You might also want to check out the engine forum that your engine belongs in. Between these different forums, you will find a huge amount of information and tips to help you get it done.
