what ratio?

pulled the ring and pinion out of my spare dana 44. pinion has 12 teeth ring has 42. what is the formula for figuring this out?

it's a 3.50 ratio. 42 divide by 12=3.5

42 divided by 12 equals 3.5. Ratio 3:50, standard late 70's ratio.

I didn't do squat after I got home today.
