Quick qestion, I have a 74 Ford F100 Ranger XLT, 390, 2BBL, C6, 2WD. The drivers side motor mount seems to have come un-done from the engine, what bolt and thread would I need to replace it with?
If you have another ride available? See if you can remove one from the passenger side, make sure it fits into the drivers side correctly. If so? Head down to the parts store and get a few. Ensure any lockwashers used get replaced. It's kinda odd to have the bolts just fall out.
That's what I thought, my thought is I bought it that way! Cause, the guy I bought it from gave me a replacement mount, but the mount looks fine! I think he dropped the old engine back in before he sold it to me and only secured one side.
Ok, I have an update... I got under there AFTER getting the new bolts. Found out there are bolts in that mount, it just seems as though they're not holding to the block anymore. I can't seem to get the old bolts out either. I don't know what to do.
You can make a U shaped cradle out of scrap wood (2X4 - 4X4) or steel. Build it so that it will just slip along side of the oil pan and you will jack on the pan rails on the block.
