Strange Noise
I know this may sound strange to many, and probably hard to diagnose, but I am wondering if someone may be able to help. I have a 2003 4.2L F150, and it is making a strange whining/bad bearing noise when at idle. It seems to happen once the truck is warm, and it is intermittent. When I turn the A/C on it seems to become more obvious. What could it be?

I don't actually think it is a pulley or bearing. It almost sounds like a thin metal cover vibrating. Today I noticed that it happens when I turn the AC on. Well, it is not so intermittent when the AC is turned on. Thanks for the reply by the way.

Hey just wanted to update. I am actually thinking after getting up under the truck tonight while it was running, and I am thinking now that the catalytic converter cover is what is vibrating. And when I turn the AC on, it gets worse. Its the cat on the passenger side, and it is close to AC parts. SO what can I do to fix this?
