Differentials ?'SSS

Ok so my 1988 F-250 has a 3.55 open dif. Right now my entire set up includes, 33" tires, 302 engine, 5 speed manual tranny. what would be a good all around dif for my truck, and how much would it cost to drop a posi or Limited Slip, instead of my open dif!

I think with your truck, the weight, engine size, and the tire size, it would be a good idea to go with at least 4.10 gearing.

Posi trac is a chevy rear end Limited slip should be a fairly easy swap in. I myself would go check a few of the local junkyards and see what you can find. Take a piece of paper with the axle codes written on them and I bet you will come up with something.

Yes, the ratio front and rear must be the same.

Same way you identified the 3.55 ratio in your truck.. with the door pillar axle code.

Or by checking the tag on the diff that will tell you the ratio without any codes.

When I put the Tracloc in my truck I found one NIB from Ford on ebay for $150.
