I've been looking for a classic Mustang for along time and finally found this one. Looks like a pretty good deal to me. Check it out: 1966 Ford Mustang (Pony) M200
Is it worth it?
It's priced a bit high I think. I've seen others with a healthy V8 and better interior for around the same price. The one thing to consider as well is how much do you plan on putting in it and what's the value when you're done with it.
Thanks but I decided to pass. I E-Mailed the guy and asked him for directions, he actually lived on the same street as my Cousin (can't belive I didn't notice it!) and I called her and asked her to go look at it she said it looked "funny" so I asked my Dad to swing by after work ( he works about a mile away) and he went and got underneath it and everything and said you could tell it had been in a MAJOR front-end collision because the front subframe was still twisted after they "fixed it" with about 1,000 gallons of Bondo. And the interior was totally trashed. Like Isaid I've looked at literaly hundreds of these and thought this was the one. Thanks again.
The important thing here, is it worth it to you, cause thats all that matters. I'm a mustang nut and it's not a bad price, the car looks good. He also said or best offer, so the door is open for an offer. The V-8 stangs are much desired but all early stang are collectable, the 80's and 90's stangs are becomming collectable now for that matter. The mustang II's even bring high dollar these days, they use to be a dime a dozen and concidered as pinto mustangs. Every year the mustang was made is, or will be sought after. There not just a car, there an investment. How do you put a price on one's dreams. I believe you think it's worth it, or you wouldn't of ask.
If the front end was hit and not fixed right, that is fixable but you need to know someone with the frame machine to pull it straight and reweld everything. That's about the going price for hardtops, fastbacks quite a bit more. If not for the pranged front end, a reasonable price.
I know that is a fair price considering the market right now and I would be wiling to pay it if it had rust instead of being a "bondo mobile" and my cousins boyfreind went after work to look at it( I had already decided to pass on it) and it wouldn't even stay runing, if it were 3,800 or 4,000 maybe but I just don't have the money or time to deal with a project that big right now.
