Has any of the users of this forum had issues with the overhead trip computer? My 2000 Expy recently had the trip computer fail, I checked the connection to the display and all plugs were seated correctly. I have also checked for fuses and have found none of them to be blown. Any suggestions?
2000 EXP
Mine stopped working at about 175,000 miles. I get nothing, no compass direction or anything. I assumed it was LCD or whatever display gone bad. Not willing to pay to take apart and relace at this point in time.
Mine only shows direction and temp, no trip info. The original display went bad a few months back so I bought a replacement on ebay for significantly less than dealership pricing....works like new again.

Thanks,
Did you find the fix on here yet? It is a fairly simple thing to fix yourself. Let me know if you still need it and I'll dig it up for you. Basically, it's just some solder points that come loose on the display circuit board. You can easily take it apart and fix it yourself, and save about 300 bucks in the process.

Mine quit on my 2000 and it was as simple as a cold solder joint on the unit itself. Simply pull the unit down, disconnect and it should be pretty obvious. I've actually fixed about 5 of these for different people and different vehicles. I guess the automated solder stations are not very consistent.
