carb question

I have an 77 f350 srw longbed I'm getting ready to swap engines the factory engine is 400m 4 barrel the engine I've got to replace it is 400m 2 barrel. Should I change the intake and carb or leave it. I've been told by some people the 2 barrel will save fuel and pull just as well but, I've also been told the same about the 4 barrel so any one have some experience with this if so please check in. thanks,
Mark

Hi first of all there was never a 400 4bbl engine, Ive heard some where around the 80s a few number of broncos came with a 4 bll carb (no proof of it), well yeah the 2 bbl carb will sufice if the engine is stock but better take the intake and the 4bll carb since it will help you alot in preformance and economy when making future mods. and if i were you, id buy an rv cam and straight timming chain leaving the 4bbl and you will seee a hell of an improvement....

If its really one of those wierd factory 4bbl engne myth, please post pictures!!! But i seriosly doubt it...

FTE would be like Mythbusters if the pictures actually show a factory 4v 400.
