What are the best balljoints to get?I need upper and lower for my 2001 Ford f250 4x4.I got a quote for some HD TRW's but am not sure if they are the best. Also are there any parts I need besides the balljoints?I plan on printing out the directions get it done myself. Thanks
I've always liked Moog products, and I believe they are a slightly better quality than TRW. I've got it set in my mind, that while I have the front end that far apart, I am going to put new bearings in and if I haven't yet, replace the auto hub vacuum line, using Braided hose and install SS braided brake lines. I'd also like to plan ahead and get some Green or black caliper paint and another can of appliance epoxy paint to touch up the axle.
The Moog joints are good but I've seen a few lately that seemed to be 'tight' right out of the box when installed on trucks.
I told the drivers on a couple of trucks we saw this on to bring them back to the shop after 500-600 miles and we would check them. One truck was ok - driver said that they seemed to loosen up a bit within 200 miles or so of driving. The other truck hasn't reached that point yet and I'm waiting to hear back.
Our field service guys here take their trucks home w/ them and we only get them in our shop when we recall them for routine service or, if something needs worked on between routine service appointments.
Well I guess I dont have to worry about them now.The truck is now sold and I went down on price so he could take the truck to his shop and have them put them in.Boy what a difference a day makes.Downside is I didnt get as much as I liked for the truck Upside is I dont have to do the ball joints now. Thanks for all the input it was VERY helpfull.
