Possible Computer Problem

I think I might have a computer problem because sometimes the truck will shift to soon when under full throttle. But I can fix these by un-hooking the battery cable for 15 mins. and the truck runs fine, for a little while until the computer gets a bad code or something (I thought the problem could be a knock sensor but people tell me this model truck didn't have one). The trucks a 1993 F-150 302 with E4OD tranny, and I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem or if you had any suggestions or ideas.

Thanks

P.S. I did take the truck to the transmisson shop and they said everything was fine.

Do you have a code scanner? I think it might be helpful to have. You can pick them up at an auto parts store. I know on my Pathfinder the computer drops all the codes once the engine has started more then 20 times without the trouble code returning. Who knows. I don't have much experiance in the computer department on Fords.
