New to the boards and new to this engine building thang. Got to find a hobby. This is as good as I could do and since everyone 'round here is building 350's had ta be the black sheep! Sense I Don't have the knowledge but do have the understanding; @times I will be asking alot of questions on the boards and trying to figure out what I wan't to do. Would like to get atleast 400 out of the ol' beast. Later down the road w/ just carbs. Right now kinda in a delima w/ flywheels. I have a 85 mustang 4banger orig. have the 302 in it now Tranny was never messed w/ just bolted up and sent down the road from what the guy says I bought it from. Would anyone know which tranny or tell me how to deside which tranny (richland or trec;I tkink) that would be under there? And which clutch pack to use or look for in the yards when I'm out and about. Or if any of you have anything to sell flywheel everything. Thanks in advance

If I am not mistaken the 4 banger XSMN wouldn't just bolt up. Well that's for a manual XSMN. Do you have a manual or is it automatic? I believe the 4 speed has a longer input shaft for the 4 banger then the V8 counterpart. This is all of the imput I can give for now. Anyone want to add?
Ok this is what's going on. The car while running will chatter like the rockers are chattering but found out it's something in my tranny. Could this be the flywheel? Throwout bearing, pilot bushing, starter or a whole mess of things? While the engine is running and not moving clutch engaged this chattering stops and the vibration goes away. Oh yea forgot to mention the vibration. The vibration is real bad while in gear and going down the road but the chatter goes away. Is there such a thing that this particular 302 was made for an automatic and if this is true what's up with that? How would I correct this fault?
