tranny problems

The c6 thats in my truck doesn't have 2nd gear and I wanted to see if you guys know why it would be doing this. I have another tranny to swap in but if I dont have to I wont, But at this point I think I'm going to be pulling it out next weekend.

try adjusting the band, its on the drivers side. torque it to 10 foot pounds then back it off one turn

The band is for all 3 gears though isnt it? theres not 3 bands. 1st and 3rd feel fine but it jumps strait to 3rd out of 1st.

Mine is slipping and pretty much toast, but adjusting the band definitely helped it shift from 1st to 2nd better. Worth a shot...
