EGT Question?

EGT Question?

Got my pyro installed.What affects EGT's?Will outside temp. or load affect my EGT?Or is it just affected by overfueling?

load will efect egt because you will need more fule to keep speed or accelerate.

It's that thermodynamics thing. The more fuel you inject creates more heat and the hot air in movement is what turns the turbine rotter on the turbo. The hotter the air the faster it moves.

Outside air temp can have a small impact on EGT.

How much fuel, what RPM the engine is running, and how long the hill you are pulling how much weight up have a bigger impact on EGT.

How restrictive your exhaust pipe is has a bigger impact on EGT than ambient air temp does.

Thanks for the input dave.Ill try to get it set up so its about 1200 up hill at high rpm.
