No fuel?

I ahve a 95 F150 4x4 reg cab long box with a 302 V8 and dual tanks... I was driving around yesterday when my truck started to lung and then the motor stalled... when i stopepd moving i tryed starting the truck and it started with no problem, so as i kept on my way, about 5 minutes later the same thing happend and it stalled again, (i have an automatic by the way). but this time before it stopped moving i pump the gas a few times and it fired back up and then stalled again... i switched from ym front take to by back maybe thinking it could me my fuel pump in teh tank but it did the same thing again about same time later... Would it be my fuel filter on the frame (like in line fuel filter) or why is it doing that? its EFI by the way... Can you help me please...

sounds like the filter to me. efi is alot more sensitive than a carbed motor. most will only start and die right away.

your best to start with the inline fuel filter if that doesn't work move on to the EFI

ok... you need the same tool thing thats unhooks the fuel lines from the fuel rails to take of the inline fuel filter just smaller right? because when i went to take my old one off the fittings looked to be the same and the replacement fram filter i bought came with two little clips for removeing the lines (or so im guessing) and they didnt work.

If you have 2 tanks, dont rule out the switching valve, but the fuel filter would be a good place to start.

95 doesn't have a switching valve. Could be a failing TFI module on the distributor as well.

Could even ba a bad ignition switch, since it starts right back up.

i think if it was the ignition it would just die, it wouldn't start lunging , and you wouldn't be able to hit the gas and start it right back up, it sounds more like a distributor than ignition

welll i took the air filter off and there was some ice in the air box, so it must ahve been getting little puffs of water into the intake. but, the distributer cap is alittle loose so a small about of snow/water could get in right? and today the motor would turn over at all, like it was locked solid! i took the belt off and spun all the accescories to make sure they arnt froze and i can still turn the crank, so it must be loseing spark then and cutting back in?

i'll look into it today again, another day of no school due to snow! hahaha

yeah you may be getting water logged, maybe try and tighten down the distributor or replace it.

k dose any of your wireing to your igniton or running tie into the wires to your radio? because i happend to be testing my own theories out and one was swapping the coil casue it only seems to die when it was warm (my sled would do that and i replaced the coil and it was good). so anyways i was testing it down the road and then all of a sudden my trck started like missing and then i heard a pop through my speakers (my dvd player was off by the way) and my truck died and then i smelt wires melting and smoke started coming out of my dash so i instantly pulled out my DVD player casue i didnt want it to burn, and turns out my deck was melting down! i ripped it outta my dash, and unhooked the wires as fast as i could and threw it in my box so i wouldnt burn my truck to the ground. but after i pulled it out, the truck was running fine, it missed afew times but then ran perfect... can i say WHAT THE ****! why would this happend? its not a nav deck or anything, just a simple indash DVD player thats all...

thats weird, maybe it got hot in behind your dash and fused some wires together, you'll have to trace the wires back and see if there's a short
