Found the leak
What I thought might be a transmission line to cooler leak turned out to be the fuel line at the banjo fitting where it connects to the block coming from the fuel filter at the top of the engine. The job would be a piece of cake if you could get to it. After negotiating alternator wires, AC hoses, fresh air cooler lines, the fan shroud and other misc. stuff, I did manage to get the fittings loose on both ends. Although the line is rather burried beneath other stuff and does not simply slide out I'm wondering if others have been here and what your experiences might have been. Since I overtightened the banjo fitting the copper washers have crimped against the threads, consequently the line won't slip through from that end. I'm wondering if I should just cut the line in pieces and remove it that way or if I will need to disassemble more surrounding parts from the engine. Is this line available from Ford parts or will i need to make one up? Thanks so much. Craig S.

Found the leak!
Yes it is a 2003 6.0 I love this truck but I'm just not sure if I can depend on it. A 104000 miles I'm wondering what else I might expect to go wrong with it. I have replaced the turbo under warranty and a few sensors. Also the rear main seal in the engine and trans seal. I've yet to find anyone in my area ( Chico CA. ) that cares much about working on them.I've been building streetrods for 25 years but working on this thing is really more than I care to tackle. I also wonder my friends Toyota Tundra can handle about any calling in the snow and my F 250 is so useless? Although he can't even carry a piece of plywood.
