Hey everyone, I purchased a 1968 F-100 Custom Cab not long ago and decided tonight to decode the Door Plate. It seems that the code for paint, rear axel and interior are non-existant. Everything else seems good. Can anyone help me out? Why would there be no codes? Maybe "Number Dummy" can help me out here. Oh, by the way I figured out my reverse lights. Now I just need to find out how to hook up my neutral/park switch issue (3 speed converted to auto).
Thanks again....oh and P.S. I am thinking of selling my newer car for another truck...maybe an earlier one. Just love this old truck!

List all the numbers off the plate or post a picture of it.

The Body Code (interior) and the Axle Code are there, Ford didn't always stamp the codes in the correct place.
BODY CODE: C81: C = Medium Beige Crush Vinyl & Medium Beige Leeds Pattern Woven Plastic / 81 = 81B Custom Cab
AXLE CODE: 17 = Ford 9 " / 3.25-1 / non Limited Slip / 3300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.
There is no Paint Code and the truck was a special order.
DSO CODE: 211440: 21 = Atlanta District Sales Zone Office / 1440 = Special Order Number.
What was special ordered?
The paint in a non stock color, why there's no paint code on the Warranty Plate.
What color is it?
Is it Coca-Cola Red by any chance? Atlanta is the HQ for Coca-Cola.
Old Ford Blue: The link to the Warranty Plate wasn't there when I typed my first post, it was added after the fact.
Thanks Number Dummy. Sorry I haven't had a chance to get back to the post. I am currently waiting on my build sheet from Ford to come in the mail. I'd like to find out as much info on the truck as I can. Thanks again...much appreciated.
