ok, i've decided that if my 302 hangs on untill 130,000 miles i'm gonna rebuild it to get a lil more power, it has 126 on it now. my question is if i use GT40P heads would a 9.5:1 compression work with 87 octane gas? while i'm messing iwth the truck i'll put on roller rockers or get a mustang roller cam block. and swap my truck over to mass air flow. i'm lookin for aobut 200hp to the wheels without gettin 9mpg. thanks in advance, justin

I made some mods to my 5.0 in a Bronco,shaved heads and changed pistons.Running about 9.5 compression and i have to use 89 octane or it will ping.If you make any airflow changes,bigger heads etc,you will need to convert to mass air or your truck will run real rich,and your computer will be freaked out.If you plan on putting in roller rockers there is a swap kit available,bot i dont think you can use the roller lifters in a non roller block.If you put in a mustang block expect to have some minor problems.you'll have to reuse your old oil pan and some brackets are different.
