I was always under the impression that there was never a MAF 460 produced but I read in one of the service manuals the other day that in 1997 California 460s were MAF. Has anyone ever seen any of these? Has anyone ever heard of anyone switching a 460 to MAF. Is there a company that makes a conversion for this? I think I might look into it.
Both California and NY issued trucks where MAF. But I think it only applied to the 95 and later trucks? I think it would be a great idea. I thought about doing it to my 96. I do believe Granitilli (sp) makes a kit.
First I have heard of this, there's no mention of a mass air 460 in any service manual I have ever seen. If it did happen these things would be more rare than any other Ford truck ever produced.
i have seen a few with mas air - all were 95 to 97 - it looks silly as they use the same mas air and housing and box as a 5.8 - and the tfi is on the fender too

About as rare as a 4.9L I-6 with mass air. I looked at one that was for sale and I was surprised to see an air meter when I popped the hood.
I saw this truck for sale from california it was a 97 F350 with a 460. It does have the mass air meter. They used the same two hoses with the air box like he said. It does look weird. I'm guessing a computer, harness, meter is all I need to swap one over since I have a 5 speed.
