Rear Differential Help with Specs Please
Hi Guys and Gals, I tried to search but cant find exactly what I need. Need to know the type of differntial for rear how many courts, and if I need to buy the Gasket, only Ford or Napa has it, I have a non limited slip 2002 6.8l 3.73 gears, thanks in advance!!
Ps Ford Quoted me 80-90 for the job, is that good, He said that is for the non limited slip.

JWISE, you do not need a gasket. You need a glue like material that you put on the edges of your pumpkin and it will dry. I changed the fluid in my rear end like 2 or 3 months ago and bought RP 75w140 for the rear. I bout 3 quarts (the pumpkin takes 3.5 so buy 4 quarts). I paid 17.00 per a quart (i got ripped off) but they have it on the internet for 12.00 a quart. The Royal Purple gear oil already has the friction modifier in it. So for limited slip or Non limited slip, youll be fine if you decede to use this oil. But i would recommend it because i had a hummin noise in my rear end and when i changed it out with the RP, it went away. If you need any help just ask or PM me!

# 2 Different subject, I have an Esp through Ford that cover Ball joint ect if they go bad... Again I just hit 80,000 and heard the ball joints go bad often, Sometimes I hear rattling over bumps in the front while towing, steering a little loose, I dont Have a lift to check them, should I take it to a Trusted service ind shop to get them checked or have Ford tell me I am High and Go away, Thanks again and sorry for so many Questions..

never that I know on differential, bought at ex 72,000

If u dont kno since u are not the ORIG owner, deff change ur rear end fluid. Did u change ur trans fluid because u might wanna do that to! what kind of eng do u have?

Transmisision has been done have paperwork from Ford, it is a v10 6.8l, ok next project, rear end , thanks

Ok, let us kno how it goes. RP is VERY hard to find around town. But, the only place that sells it it ia advanced auto parts, but they may have to order it. They had to order mine and it only took a day. But its alot more expensive at AA and ull save if u order it on the internet. I didnt order it on the internet because i wanted it right away as my rear end was leakin oil.
