Leaf Spring Shackle?

Greetings,

Does anyone know of a reasonable parts supplier where I could get a front leaf spring shackle for an 80' F150 4wd? I just bought the truck and as I was giving it a thorough check out I found that the left front(very front) shackle has rusted and the spring is sitting on the frame. I don't want to get one from the bone yard if I don't have too, for fear of the same problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Mike

80 F150 should have coil springs up front, unless you are talking about the front shackle for the rear spring... which apears to be straight to the frame mount on the rear spring. If you have front leaf springs, you may have an F250 frame or some kind of conversion. LMC has the front shackle for an F250 for around 60 bucks.

Thanks for your reply. My truck does have 3/4 ton axles, forgot to mention that! Thanks for the link, I need item #5 for the F250. Any idea on how to identify what type and year these axles are?

Are there any tags affixed to a housing bolt, it may be the only way to tell for sure.

Those parts are still available from the dealership. I just replaced ALL of mine.

Check out one of the site's sponsors for a good price.

OK, thanks guys. I will look for a tag today on the axles and visit a site sponsor as well to price my parts. Thanks again, Mike
